The Irish Terrier Association was formed in 1911, the first president being the Marquis of Breadalbane, with Vice Presidents including HH the Maharajah of Jind, The Right Honorable Lord Granville, The Lord Dewar, Major General Sir Foster Newland and Colonel Sir Edward Ward. Eventually The Right Honorable, The Earl of Longsdale became president and retained his interest in the association till his death in 1944
The ITA holds its annual Championship Show in June at Tomlinsons Canine Centre, Upper Grange Farm, Ratby Lane, Markfield Leicestershire, LE67 9RJ
The Open Show and Funday is held in September at Roade Community Centre, Roade, Northants, NN7 2LP.
The AGM is held at Shottery Memorial Hall, Shottery, Nr. Stratford Upon Avon, CV37 9ND in March/April each year. We combine the AGM with a morning special event covering some relative Irish Terrier Topic.
